1.7 Million people in the Netherlands suffer from chronic kidney damage and early detection is necessary to prevent for worse. Creatinine is one indicator for kidney diseases and so T.E.S.T. developed a biosensor prototype to determine creatinine concentrations in blood plasma. In this movie the potentials of this prototype are shown, keeping in mind that there are still some obstacles to be taken.
SensUs is a new, yearly international student competition on molecular biosensors for medical diagnostics and healthcare applications. All participating teams developed their unique biosensor with the same functional end goal to detect creatinine. At the contest on September 9th and 10th 2016 at the Eindhoven University of Technology all solutions are shown, shared, and discussed.

The technical aim of the competition is released, defining e.g. the biomarker and the sample matrix.
Our team conceives and builds a biosensor system at the TU/e. We will make use of our expertise and resources in our environment.
T.E.S.T. has won three prizes at the TU/e Contest.
T.E.S.T. has won the WO Innovationprize at the BrainsAward.
All teams come to Eindhoven where they will present and demonstrate their biosensing system during a public event.
T.E.S.T. has won the Creativity Award for the most innovative idea.
